The CDP is a part of the Fort Morgan, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Orchard post office has the ZIP Code 80649. As of the 2020 census, the population of the Orchard CDP was 76.
History
TOrchard, Colorado, is a small unincorporated town located in Morgan County. The town has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century. Here are some key points about its history: Establishment: The Orchard post office has been in operation since 1882. The community was named for a grove of cottonwood trees near the original town site. Population: As of the 2020 census, the population of Orchard was 761. Filming Location: Orchard was used as a filming location for James Michener’s miniseries "Centennial". In honor of this, the town was renamed Centennial for one day on August 2, 2024. Orchard is part of the Fort Morgan, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area and is known for its small-town charm and historical significance.
Geography
Orchard is in western Morgan County along Colorado State Highway 144, north of the South Platte River. Highway 144 leads northeast, then southeast down the South Platte valley 23 miles to Fort Morgan, the Morgan county seat, and south 4 miles to U.S. Route 34. The Orchard CDP has an area of 0.16 square miles, all land.

I'd suggest if you are looking for any kind of Orchard, this may not be the place. I offer a quote from Out There Colorado....
"While the town itself does not have much to offer except farmland and residential homes, there are several nearby recreational opportunities are available."
It did however change its name for 1 day!!
